Fault Line

I thought I was

Fine with being a woman

I thought I was

Known by some but

The man that I am

Doesn’t know the person

He’s been living as

And sometimes the

Disconnect between

What they see and

Who I am is so stark

The fault line runs right

Through my head

Down my spine and

Rips open my heart

And if I say anything

About the pain

They call me

Emotional, sensitive, or

Something belittling

I’d like to see anyone try to

Endure these earthquakes

Without quivering
