Enthusiasm Is An Easy Target/Two Approved Options

Been trying to figure out what it is —

Why people are always

So eager to step on my neck

At first I thought it was gender but

I know it’s my weight, but what else

Combined with my weight

Makes me an easy target?

Honestly…?

Loving things. That’s what I’ve noticed.

Any time you say

“I love x about z”

People are like

“Y would you say such a thing”

What is it about enthusiasm

That offends people is it

The threat of action or it just simply that

Depression is more charming and relatable

Than positivity ?

Or again is this a phenomenon I experience

Because no matter what I say

People wish it was

“I’m successfully losing weight!”

Or total silence. Those are the two

Approved options.
