It’s funny how

The thing that the doctors

Tell me is going to lead to

Lots of health problems

And early death

Is also the thing they point to

When I ask for help

As reason that it’s me, and

Not them.

It’s funny how obesity

Is a public health crisis

But fat people are treated

As hypochondriacs

It’s funny how

You can be so fat

And never once have been jolly

And people still think you’re

Good natured, just for your

Cheeks and belly

I wonder when they’ll start

Educating folks about

The difference between dieting

And soap boxing

I wonder when they’ll start

Educating folks about

The humans who live in their fat suits

Their whole lives without changing

And the society that encourages them

To kill themselves with shame
