Gender Dysphoria And Mental Health/Buck Angel Needs Help

There are feelings that you have that are a result of the gender the world reads you as—

And there are feelings that you will have regardless of whether or not you were ever transgender.

My boss at work went through a divorce so bad he hasn’t talked to his own daughter in 6 years.

I’m gonna go ahead and assume that his wife said some pretty damn hurtful things to this man.

I’m gonna go ahead and assume that the pain goes both ways and

I’m gonna go ahead and assume that he knows what it’s like to struggle with depression and anxiety. His behavior indicates that he is sensitive to these issues.

Buck Angel’s personal mission to

Educate the world on gender dysphoria and the

Medical necessity of severe depression and anxiety

In order to be transgender

Is loaded with guilt, denial, shame, and self-loathing.

Depression and anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder

Various mental health conditions that

Many many people in the community struggle with.

I find it to be reckless and dangerous

Far more so than surgery far more so than hormone therapy

To suggest that

Transitioning is marked by and requires

Severe, omnipresent depression and anxiety and

Body dysmorphia and self-loathing.

I find it disgusting to say that passing is something

You only get to enjoy when you are muscular enough to pass as whatever your body dysmorphic disorder says a man’s body looks like.

Cis men are finally waking up to this—

When will trans men…?

Can someone who he listens to please explain to

Buck Angel that depression and anxiety

Are helped by transitioning, and that

If they aren’t getting better—

You need to check into those problems

Separately. Since

They are separate problems. That have nothing to do

With gender dysphoria. Alas

It is extremely convenient

To blame everything on gender dysphoria while also insisting

That if you didn’t have it— you wouldn’t even be trans.

You just can’t understand

That’s what depression always says, man.

Gender dysphoria gets better but

Depression is a lifetime battle and

You’re publicly losing this one, man.
