I go by he/they

Because I identify as a

Non-binary man, it’s not

An oxymoron, it’s who I am.

I don’t use they

Very often, but

Everyone

Who is a pillar in my life

A foundation for me to sit on

Knows that I am

Transgender

It took me a while to be brave enough

To tell everyone

Because I knew

They would have questions

Of what that means for me

And my life journey.

It wasn’t easy, but

None of this became

Concrete until I poured

The foundation for my family

To make a decision—

Either support

Or lose me—
