Magnets

Don’t tell me you’re sorry

Because I know you are

Don’t tell me you miss me

Because I know you do

Don’t tell me you’re fine

Because I know you’re not

Stop telling me lies

About how we are rocks

So that we can pretend

As if we aren’t destined for each other

Like magnets attracting and

Pulling me under

I was content until I wandered

Into your field and now I’m

Squirming, churning

Charged by an opposite pole

When I’m most comfortable

Lying still
