Observations Of Popular Thought On Reddit/Fatphobia Is Common, Average, and Everywhere
If fatphobia isn’t real, than neither are trans people.
There are more members in r/fatlogic than there are in r/ftm and r/mtf combined.
If you add in r/genderfluid and r/truscum–
There are still more joiners on r/fatlogic.
Sure sure sure–
I skipped r/trans and r/nonbinary. Let’s be fair
Let’s mix it all in.

Now take for example
The number of fatphobic, fat-loathing, ignorant reductive bashing based on incel logic and reasoning groups–
Fat hatred subreddits | |

r/fatpeoplehate *banned, if you consider | *private, but before was 151,000 |

As of Today– 12/10/2021 at 9:15am, for what my console loads–
There are
2,112,770 members of fatphobic subreddits.
There are
65,008 members of body accepting, body positive, body neutral subreddits and
Absolutely no pro-fat groups on this platform.
There are 1,386,211 trans-related subreddit members.
If you combined
The number of trans-positive spaces, with
The number of body-positive, accepting spaces–
Well– hold on now
Let’s get the queers all together for this–
Well– fuck– their data makes no fucking sense.
Like, for example–
r/gay | 278,530 |
r/gaymer | 229,255 |
Almost certainly everyone in r/gaymer is ALSO joined to r/gay
Same way
Almost certainly everyone in r/ftm, r/mtf, r/nonbinary
Is also joined to r/trans
The overlap is endless– alas
Queer Sexuality Subreddits (Most Popular) | |
r/bisexual | 441,679 |
r/gay | 278,530 |
r/gaymer | 229,255 |
r/BDSMadvice | 225,938 |
r/lesbianactually | 171,351 |
r/asexuality | 146,085 |
r/pansexual | 136,272 |
r/lesbiangamers | 47,275 |
r/lesbian | 37,294 |
r/lesbianmemes | 27,166 |
r/queer | 18,151 |
total | 1,758,996 |
The point I’m trying to make here is that
If you look at it for what it is–
A group of people, a space the size of the membership–
That’s how reddit works, folks–
The larger the community the more likely other people will join it.
It’s like the opposite of Switzerland, as well as
The opposite of how most people view valuable opinion.
People go here to cringe, they go here
To try and fit in– and
Everyone knows that the best way to make friends
Is by hating the same people. That’s why
There are more fatphobic subreddits
Than there are members of any individual indentity
Within the queer community.
r/fatlogic
Has more members
Than r/trans, on it’s own
More members
Than r/ftm, r/mtf, r/nonbinary
It has more members than r/bodypositivity
More members than any single sexuality demographic
It has more members than r/gay, r/lesbianactually
More members than r/BDSMadvice–
The only community subreddit larger than fatlogic is
r/Bisexual, and that is a third the size of r/Cringetopia
The idea
That fatphobia doesn’t exist
Is something fatphobes constantly preach about on reddit–
To the r/fatlogic folks, there is no way
A fat person could be anything but a burden, whose lessening
Is in progress. The debt they pay after they lose the weight
Is endless. There is no community on the internet
That enables fat people, there is no safe haven
No subreddit, no place for a fat face to show
Without a cringe, a reshare, a steal, an appropriation–
Fat trauma doesn’t exist, just thin trauma
From having to see fat bodies, from having them host us
In their infrastructures, from having them host us
In their healthcare.
To me, just look at the numbers–
Fatphobia is common, average, and
Everywhere.
