Shame Guzzlers

It’s hard enough

To carry my own burdens

To bear my own weight

I don’t need to carry

Your hatred and shame

Alone the way

It doesn’t burn more calories for me—

It just raises your dopamine

When you’re behaving contemptuously towards me

I see you as a fat lazy glutton

Desperate to steal my joy

And guzzle it for yourself

The way my sister always did

When I was growing up.
