Shame, Money, and Views/Weight-Spectacle Shows Should Be Cancelled.

I wish they would cancel

My 600lb life

I don’t know anyone

Who watches this

Besides as a way

To mock them, to

Motivate themselves

(which mocks them)

Or watches

Just to enjoy the spectacle.

I find these kinds of

Weight loss shows

Problematic, at best

Dehumanizing at worst.

I know they consent to being on the show

But I also understand

That their desire for change, their

Fuel for a different quality of life

Is coming from shame, money

And views, not

Caring, empathy, and health.

It takes a lot more support

A lot more lifelong care

Than you ever get to see

On a fucking tv show.
