If you go to the doctor

With a gash on your head

And some athletes foot

They don’t say

“Here—

This anti-fungal foot cream

Will do the trick”

Then send you on your way—

They’ll probably assess you

In order of most serious conditions first

And leave the athletes foot problem

For when they know you’re not concussed—

And yet

So many trans people on the internet

Do the equivalent

When they get

“Gender therapy”

And HRT

And surgery

And never, ever once

Consider that perhaps

They might have some other sort of

Gash that needs tending,

Some of them even say

“It’s transphobic !!”

If their doctor even suggests such a thing.
